France!

Salut everyone!

Nous sommes à Cap Ferret. Yesterday Maria and I arrived in Bordeaux (after using our euro rail pass to get from Barcelona to Bordeaux) and were picked up at the train station by Diane, Franc et Roch. Roch stayed with my family in SB last summer and now we get to stay with his family! Tomorrow we are going to go on a 3 day bike trip where we will carry our camping equipment! should be fun!

  1. Kim - thanks for checking in! The bike trip sounds like a great adventure - will you be sharing the road with cars, or do they have separate bike trails? Carrying your camping equipment on bicycles sounds challenging. In the Sierras, we had pack mules for that!

  2. hi kim! i've never bike camped before. way to go! Did the train from barcelona go through Spain going west? Or up to france then west through france? You traveled the length of the Pyrenees! Hope you could see them from the train. Glad we hosted Roch so you can get some hostedness. (sp):-( Google earth us where your bike trip was! or not. You can update the blog later! have fun!

Ambee's typical day from our point of view, she leaves for work at 7:45AM (getting up at 7:30AM) and then shows up around 8PM with 5 friends (zac, cassie, tyler, a few others) and make dinner with our food (who's else can they cook at that hour) in a big wok, then watch TV until midnight. At least that is what happened last night!

So now you dont have to miss anything happening around here and can fully concentrate and enjoy that great and fantastic and memory creating Europe trip you are on. LOVE KEY

  3. Hello Kim and Maria!

Staying with Roche's family and biking to a campground sounds like a plan!

I once biked up a pretty steep hill with your uncle Jimmy sitting on the bike behind me. Could you do that?

    Love from Grandad

  4. Have fun biking! Be careful. Make sure to always check for cars turning right. When I was biking around DC a lot of times cars forget to look for bikers so you have to be really cautious.

    Love Amber
