The Alhambra is a palace and fortress complex constructed during the mid 14th century by the Moorish rulers that used to rule the region. It is Spain´s most significant and well known Islamic Architecture, together with 16th-century and later Christian building and garden interventions.
It was really cool to walk around, the tiles were so intricate and I dont think I had ever seen anything like it!
Whenever I am in SB my family and I always have to go to yogurtland! So of course I had to take a picture of this store, which I saw in Spain!
The awesome hostel organized a night out, so we went out with a bunch of people from the hostel for drinks, tapas and then flamenco! haha, no one got the memo that we were taking a picture except for us!
Hello Kim and Maria,
ReplyDeleteI was scrawling up through your blog today, soaking up the latest news on your Amazing Adventure to Great Places, and found there were no comments on The Alhambra. The Alhambra was one of the most memorable places I visited in my own (one) trip to Spain. The pictures you posted showed it to be even more beautiful on the outside than I remember it (but did you go INSIDE?). That was really good too, and pleasantly cool. Joyce and I went for a walk in the old part of town which the Jewish population inhabited in those ancient days. While wandering down narrow walkways, we got lost.
Your trip is exciting and your photographs are wonderful.
Love from Grandad
