Hello Everyone!
Since I last quote we have visited Bath, Venice and are now in Florence!
I cannot quite figure out how to post photos currently, but I will try to asap!
Bath was very cute, a relatively small village made out of brick with the famous Roman Baths. We got to go inside. I think the Romans had the right idea with the baths, everyone (slaves, servants, working men-women and the elite) would go to the baths almost every day. They were very elaborate, with many rooms of varying water temperatures and massages and steam rooms. Sounds nice!
We took a 7am flight from London to Venice, and since it was budget airlines the airport was far, so we had to wake up around 3. Arriving in Venice made it worth it thought, it was so beautiful. So far Venice is our favorite town. The canals are so picturesque, you can literally just walk around along cute bridges and watch the gondolas go by. We didnt actually ride a gondola (about $100 for 1 hour) but the bus system in Venice is actually boats, so we got to ride along the canals! We also visited some of the islands, which were less crowded and still very beautiful. Our youth hostel was huge, it had over 250 beds, and when I woke up and looked out my window I had a view of the canal!
We then took the train with our Eurorail pass to Florence, where we are currently. It is very crowded, but we made reservations for the two main museums today, and saw David and the Uffizi museum. Tomorrow we are going to take a day trip, probably to Sienna.
It is very hot here haha!
Venice sounds nice.
ReplyDeletesounds wonderful!! those baths sound amazing :)
ReplyDeleteHello Kim and Maria!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting your followers with some of the highspots of your trips to Bath, Venice and Florence. In lieu of pictures, I will imagine that they are the way I remember them (all good). The last time Joyce and I were in Venice, it was very hot, so I can certainly relate to that part. Florence, as I've probably mentioned, is our favorite place in all of Italy. I hope you visit the Ponte Vecchio and the open market and find a nice restaurant and enjoy the Uffizi Gallery!
Joyce has gone to Sparks, Nevada, to visit her sister. I am cat-sitting.
Love to you both from RWY
